I put up the construction report of the Scwimmer as well.....

I started with the outboard engine.

The inside

And the framework

I'm not quite sure what to think of this model so far.....
The pieces seems to fit allright so far, but there is something that doesn't feel right. But I'll go ahead...

Body cover are cutted and ready be assembled

The parts for the front seats

Seats mounted, and the tiny pedals are also in place...

And here the fun begins....mounting the small parts to get the body into a whole piece.I found this part rather difficult.

But I got it mounted in a way.....

The interior

The rear end

The parts does not fit wery well, so I have to find a solution.....

Luckily I scanned the booklet, so I have backup smiley
I'm going to enlarge the sideparts so they fit better to the body.

It seems like this model is a mixup of two different models. There are numbers and parts that is not a part of this model, so I have to make some "custom" parts to make it fit properly.

Making of the steering wheel and I went and got some paint for the touchup at my local colourstore. I just took a piece of paper with the printed colour and the store made a perfect match.

But onto the building. The steeringwheel shown in the book is not any easy operation....so I made my own my own way.
First I expropiated one of my kids " Mikado sticks" and drilled 3 0,6mm holes in the center part so that the 0,5mm spokes would fit in.Then I used my Olfa circlecutter to cut out 3 circles og 0,5mm karton.

Here I have put one of the spokes into place.

And when assembled it lookes like this

Kutted and painted

Mounted into place

Overview

Made the spare tire and the front "bumper"
Also finished the body. Before finishing I will grind and do some further touch up all the way, so don't pay much attention to the "edges"

Also made the rear licenceplate, the hinges and the "hand grip"

Closeup of the spare tire and the front licenceplate

The canvas roof is also finished, but the front window is a real bugger....have to figure out something smart here. On the pic it is only placed loosely on the vehicle for showing, so this is not the finished result

Made the headlights, finished the front window, glued the roof on place, made the showel and the paddle and glued the steerinwheel on place.

So now there is to finish the wheels and doing the last touch up with paint, and the Schwimmer is done.

Here is my last construction report of the Schwimmwagen.
Making of the tires, and adding rest of the details was on the schedule this time.

Here are the parts needed for one tire.

I used 0,5mm karton to make the pattern of the tire a bit rougher

The patern mounted

Glued and ready for some paint

Painted and finished

Rear tire and one of the hooks

Front details

Front hook

Some rear details

Some more.....

The finished model!

Thats it folks!!
I'm putting the rest of the pics of the Schwimmwagen together with the dioramas in the Gallery
